Artist's Statement
After raising my family and retiring, I began to explore the world of art and quickly realized that I had awakened a passion I never knew existed. I see colors, shapes and textures as I have never seen them before, and have discovered that I am communicating with my soul thru the process of applying paint and brush to canvas. I am often amazed at what I am able to accomplish when I become lost using whatever techniques, ideas and inventiveness I have within me. I am consumed with the painting process. There is no end to it. I have an insatiable hunger for all images of all kinds and also a desire to analyze the values and abstract qualities that are the answer to most compositions. My painting skills are rapidly improving with the instruction from solid professionals (such as Denise Lucchesi, Jack Scott and Tesia Blackburn), I have learned so much and am still learning. |
